It can be applied to develop and improve ingredients for use in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial products.

Shiru has patented a reiterative method that twins machine learning with recombinant expression and laboratory testing. FLOURISH puts this to work for discovering individual precision-fermented proteins as food ingredients having a desired function, such as gelation and flavoring.
